41st celebration: CPDM now a religion in Misaje!.

Thousands of supporters of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, in Misaje Subdivision, Donga Mantung Division of the North West Region, have said the ruling party under the leadership of President Paul Biya, is now a religion to them.

They made the confession of unbroken adherence to the ruling party during a ceremony at the municipality’s grandstand on Tuesday March 24, 2026.  The event marked the celebration of the 41st anniversary of the CPDM party.

Speaker after speaker at the crowd-pulling event, which saw the Interim Minister of Mines, Industry and Technological Development, Prof Fuh Calistus, credited with the huge turnout, said, as far as politics is concerned, the CPDM to them is more than a political party.

They described the party with President Paul Biya at its helm as the only platform through which they exercise their political rights and drive development.

Others added that the status quo will remain for generations yet to come, as the surest ticket through which Misaje can count its place in nation building and work out its development without fear or favour.

The Section President of Donga Mantung IV Misaje, Ali Tikur, expressed delight at the historic turnout of supporters from all corners of the municipality who emptied to the grandstand to celebrate the birthday of the ruling party.

Ali thanked the Head of State, President Paul Biya, on behalf of the people of Misaje, for his constant confidence in their son, Prof Fuh Calistus Gentry; the Interim Minister of Mines, Industry and Technological Development, to serve the nation. He told the media that the CPDM party and the Head of State have honoured Misaje since 2007.

This, the Section President stated, has been by “appointing their son, Prof Fuh Calistus Gentry as Secretary of State in the Ministry of Mines, Industry and Technological Development. Now, he is the Interim Minister of Mines, Industry and Technological Development. So that is why the people of Misaje are behind the CPDM since 2007”.

The Section President of the women’s wing of the party, WCPDM, Ntoban Renata, said the massive turnout of women at the anniversary was a demonstration of their contentment to the ruling party.

“What the party has done for CPDM Donga Mantung IV, we can’t express our joy enough. There are many development projects that have come to Misaje because of the CPDM.  Just to name a few… we now have a front head loader, which the Misaje Council just bought. It will open farm to market roads and improve the standards of women because they are peasants…”  Ntoban stated.

Still on roads, she stated that the construction of the Misaje-Nkambe road will ease “movements.  That is development”.  The WCPDM Section President also revisited President Biya’s confidence in Prof Fuh Calistus in government, as being a enough for the bond between Misaje and the CPDM to stay alive.

“He being in government also demonstrates that Misaje is for the ruling party and will continue to be for the party,” Ntoban declared, before assuring that in the upcoming twin polls, Misaje is going to give the CPDM a landslide victory.

The traditional ruler of Nkanchi, Fon Thomas Kibussie, said the huge turnout at the anniversary testifies of the party’s acceptance across Misaje.

“Even in the next 50 years, the CPDM will remain the winning party in Misaje; especially given that one of their sons, Prof Fuh Calitus Gentry, is a member of the government of President Paul Biya,” Fon Kibussie asserted.

He said the massive grassroots support is to tell the powers that be that with their son in government and other development projects in their communities, Misaje will remain the bastion of the CPDM.

The traditional ruler asserted that even with the rains that signal the start of the farming season, the women came in their numbers to show how close the CPDM is to their hearts.

The Fon said despite the distance between Yaounde, the political capital where President Biya leaves and Misaje, where thousands are supporters of his party, the connection is matchless.

The Monarch, who is also a Councillor at the North West Regional Assembly, reiterated that appreciation of the people to the Head of State, Paul Biya, for the many development projects and for always thinking of Misaje, when sharing the national cake.
